Saturday 14th August, 2010 Familiar faces such as Millhouse, Cole Facts and Kimmystic along with a multitude of up-comers showcased their inspired but distinctive collections at the LIME Fashion Caribbean 2010 show. It was held at the Emerald Valley Casino & Resort, St.Vincent and the Grenadines.
Here is a review of the collections:
The Designer: Kevin Ayoung-Julien The Trends: Flowing resort wear, asymmetrical, over-sized and tent-shaped, bias-cut separates and dresses in visual color gradations of sun-kiss, rust ,moss ,coral, icy blue
Kimmystic Clothing (St.Vincent & the Grenadines)
The Designer: Kimon Baptiste The Trends: Up-town girl silhouettes: fabric manipulation, hand painted florals & fabrication, structured strapless bustiers in mini-dresses, jumpsuits and separates in neutrals, canary yellow and bright rose.
Ecliff Elie Designs limited (Trinidad and Tobago)
The Designer: Ecliff Elie The Trends: Very cohesive menswear collection in leather, stripes and suede fabrication, suits and separates in mixed palette of browns, accented by corals and turquoise.
Raang Designs (Trindad & Tobago)
The Designer: Shaun Griffith Perez The Trends: Intricately ruffled blouses and dress, floor length skirts for women, standout red suits for men, overall palette in black, cream and red.
Zadd & Eastman (Trinidad & Tobago)
The Designers: Omzad Khan and Nigel Eastman The Trends: Collection focused on dominant tribal circular batik, floor length skirts, also graphic polka dots, reversed stripes for both male and female garments, mule and cream palette.
Millhouse (Trinidad & Tobago)
The Designers: Gregory Mills and Coline Baptiste-Mills The Trends: Daring suits for men: tailored jackets, waistcoats combined with trousers in capris and shorts lengths, blends of silks, polyester and sequined material in neutrals, red and black.
Natural Beats (St.Vincent & the Grenadines)
The Designer: Ingrid John The Trends: Beach/bohemian looks, light cotton dresses, burlap and canvas accessories e.g. clutches and satchels for men and women, cut-off bowler hats.
Cole Facts (Guyana)
The Designer: Michelle Cole & Trevor Rose The Trends: Slightly bondage themed swimwear, metallic color palette in multi-colored hues.
Brenda Iroha (St.Vincent & the Grenadines)
The Designer: Brenda Iroha The Trends: Draped and intricately tied and belted, African printed cottons & linens.
